Working together to help those in need

Alberta is pulling together to help victims of the Fort McMurray wildfire, and Web3 is joining the effort. With over 80,000 people forced from their homes, the need for aid over the next few days is going to be huge, and we’re going to be helping out by directly providing desperately needed care to families sheltering at a nearby RV site. We’re looking to fill the Web3 truck with everything from sunscreen to first aid kits to bottled water. Come by our offices Friday with donations, and we’ll see they get delivered directly to those in need.

Some of the most desperately needed items are:

  • Bottled water
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Diapers
  • Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss
  • Travel shampoo/conditioner
  • Lotion and sunscreen
  • Deodorant
  • Sanitary wipes
  • Travel packs of Kleenex
  • Basic first aid kits
  • Cat, dog, and pet food

To call the last few days rough on the good people of Fort McMurray would be a terrible understatement. Entire families have been displaced and have lost everything they couldn’t take with them. That’s why we want to do something special, not just to help out with the must-haves, but to bring a little bit of fun and help lift spirits. We’re throwing together a BBQ this Saturday, May 7, for evacuees in a nearby campsite. We’ll be grilling up hot dogs starting at 11:00 am and would like to invite all our great partners to join in. Any excess will be passed along directly to other relief operations in the capital region.

Thanks for helping us help keep Alberta strong!
